Dan Bylsma made this comment in relation to a reporter's question about how the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team is managing in the absence of its star player, Sidney Crosby, who is out with concussion syndrome. Bylsma is absolutely right and it was an important reminder for me. So often we get focused on who isn't at a meeting, or a family gathering or who doesn't appear to be supporting a particular cause, that we lose sight of what is most important - the people who have shown up!!
Celebrate the people who join you, rather than fret over those who don't...
